ICS

International Christian School (ICS) is a local Christian/private school in our area.  There are a number of families and teachers from ICS that attend our Church and ICS is also a place Steve will be visiting frequently and interfacing with as he works with the youth here.  He hopes to disciple students there, work with building ministry and connections there, and go to lunches with studends as well as student activities to further interact with the youth and engage those attending ICS.  He may also potentially have an opportunity to teach at their chapel.

We recently had the privilege of attending two events at ICS and really enjoyed our introduction to the school and school community.

The first event was their annual Christmas Program.

We look pretty Christmas-y, right? ;-)

Prior to the program, we had a chance to hang out with the Pastor Nelson and Michelle Chapman.  They took us to an amazing Korean BBQ, pictured below.

As you can see, it was meat, meat and more meat.  Can you tell why it is Steve's favorite?  It was pretty amazing.  And it was really fun to spend some time with Nelson and Michelle.  We enjoyed it!  So much so, we were almost late to the show!  Thankfully, Korean time seems to run a bit late so we made it with about 15 minutes to spare.

I wasn't sure what Caleb would think of it or how he would handle sitting still for an hour but I shouldn't have worried.  A stage full of (adorable!) kids singing?  Are you kidding me?  Caleb loved it!  What was I thinking!

This was Caleb almost the whole time, except when he would stop to clap and clap or shout in response:

We ended up having to put his nuk in because he was getting so excited and shouting and "singing" along that he started "stealing" the show....at least for the rows surrounding us, anyhow.

We took a little clip but it is hard to see since it was dark but I'll post it and you can endure it if you want.

Our other ICS event this week was a banquet fundraiser for their upcoming mission trip this spring.  We enjoyed a dinner of lasagna and fellowship.

This is Caleb's new little friend Sadie.  She is about a week older than Caleb and she just moved here a few months ago.  Her Daddy teaches at ICS and her Mommy is a stay at home mom and they go to SCBC as well.  They don't live too far from us we discovered but have not yet had a chance to hang out.

This is the team that will be going on the mission's trip:

And now you know about as much as I do about ICS!  We look forward to working and partnering further with the school and the students and faculty there!
